The IT Atlassian team owns and manages Jira, Jira Service Management and Confluence at Coinbase. As the IT Product Manager for the Atlassian Platform you would be responsible to define and execute on a roadmap to drive usage, adoption and user satisfaction for all of our internal customers. This role will partner closely with the IT Atlassian engineering team and strategic cross-functional stakeholders, additionally they will be responsible to define requirements for project requests submitted by business units across Coinbase.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Product Strategy: Define and implement a clear product strategy for how Coinbase uses the Atlassian Platform (Jira, Jira Service Management & Confluence) with a focus on driving seamless collaboration between these tools and other applications in our collaboration tools stack.
- Roadmap Planning: Develop a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with company goals and client needs. Prioritize features, set milestones, and establish timelines to guide development.
- Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to gather product requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of user needs and technical constraints. Translate these into actionable tasks for the development team.
- Agile Project Management: Utilize agile methodologies to manage the product development lifecycle efficiently. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery and resolve roadblocks as needed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Atlassian Engineering, Program Management, People Operations, Legal, and Security teams to ensure smooth coordination and alignment throughout the product lifecycle. Provide guidance to successfully translate business requirements into technical requirements and think about how these changes might impact other use cases.
- Product Launch and Adoption: Lead product launch activities, including creating Proof of Concept strategies, developing documentation, conducting training, and gathering feedback from users.
- Performance Tracking and Optimization: Define and report on key metrics, establish mechanisms to track performance, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions to continuously improve the product experience across the Atlassian Platform.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients, ensuring regular communication, managing expectations, and addressing any concerns. Provide timely updates on development progress.
- Stakeholder Communication: Develop and execute a communication strategy to keep stakeholders informed about product goals, milestones, and changes. Create executive summaries, reports, and presentations to facilitate effective communication.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- 5+ years of strong experience in a dynamic product management role managing a data center version of the Atlassian platform.
- Proven success in overseeing all elements of the Atlassian Platform product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and optimization.
- High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams, collaborating with stakeholders from program management, engineering, security, and other departments.
- Experience in delivering finely tuned product marketing strategies to drive user engagement and adoption throughout the product lifecycle.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills, to effectively communicate Atlassian Platform strategies and updates to stakeholders at all levels.
- Focus on areas with the highest impact and a track record of completing deliverables on or ahead of schedule.
- Strong sense of accountability and a drive for efficiency, constantly seeking better ways to improve processes and deliver high-quality user experiences across our Atlassian Platform implementation.
- Strong team player mindset, collaborating effectively with colleagues and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Continuously seeking learning opportunities to stay updated with industry trends and best practices in collaboration tools.
- Able to facilitate and conduct training effectively, guiding and supporting colleagues in collaboration tool initiatives.
Nice to haves:
- Experience managing mixed environment collaboration tool stacks including self-hosted and vendor-hosted applications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven success as a product manager in a user-centric environment
- Demonstrable knowledge of collaboration platforms, automation platforms, and user access control systems
- Familiarity with user segmentation, A/B testing, and behavioral analytics tools

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
Pay Range:
$127,075—$149,500 USD
