About Us…

We are Simply Staking, an all-in-one blockchain team comprising datacentre specialists, DevOps professionals and software engineers. Our expertise lies in building infrastructure tooling and blockchains, as well as operating blockchain infrastructure across multiple networks. All of our infrastructure runs on self-hosted or co-located servers, without any utilisation of cloud services, and our main headquarters are located in Malta.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join our web3 software development team. In this role, the Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for shaping our QA practices, ensuring product quality across the full Product Development Life Cycle, collaborating with developers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of QA engineering efforts within the development team.
• Implement and evolve QA processes across all stages of the PDLC, from initial concept through post-release.
• Refine and validate Acceptance Criteria to ensure clarity and completeness.
• Design, create, and maintain Test Cases and Test Suites (eg. smoke tests), maximising reasonable test coverage.
• Revisit and update test cases as products mature (understanding the Pesticide Paradox principle).
• Identifying, using, and implementing required testing tools to execute tests and log test outcomes against expected results.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a QA Engineer, ideally in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of QA processes and best practices.
• Hands-on experience designing, creating, and maintaining test cases and test suites.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
• While having a strong sense of ownership and accountability for QA-related processes and expected QA operational standards.

Good to have - but not required

• ISTQB certification or equivalent.
• Experience with test automation frameworks or tools, and the implementation of such tools.
• Background in software development.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of Web3/blockchain technologies.
