About the role

We are looking for a Value Stream Architect for Custody and Defi to join our Enterprise Architecture team. In this role, reporting directly to the Head of Architecture, you will mentor the other team members and participate to all the appropriate ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinements, Steering Committees, etc.) for the teams they oversee.

Your main responsibilities:
• Acting as a technical stakeholder of the Custody Value Stream leadership team and working closely with the business owner(s) and product lead(s) to prioritize deliverables.
• Together, with the business owner(s) and project manager(s), defining and evolving the delivery roadmap for the Custody Value Stream.
• Defining and evolving the system architecture to meet business, scalability, maintainability and security needs as well as maintaining the long-term technical direction of the Custody Value Stream.
• Ensuring compliance with the best security and enterprise architecture standards and working closely with the rest of the enterprise architecture and CISO teams to ensure compliance with the established enterprise and security standards.
• Working closely with the tech lead(s) to understand and evolve the platform to the desired target.
• Designing, documenting and communicating all technical and architectural decisions and roadmaps.

Please note that whilst this is not a hands-on role, expertise in the underlying technology stacks being utilized is required. Additionally, it may be required to help the team with code reviews and implementation guidelines from time-to-time.

Our ideal candidate

Solid understanding of cryptography and Blockchain concepts, digital asset security, and key management best practices (HSMs, Trusted Execution Environment, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) with 10+ years of experience in an engineering / architecture / technical management role.
Sound understanding of architectural patterns, modern tech stacks and security.
Proven experience in both design and delivery of key business and technical initiatives.
In-depth and hands-on knowledge of Typescript (NestJS) or Java 21.
Managing day-to-day interactions with business users, as well as technology teams.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement.
Willingness to mentor people and teams, and to get directly involved in coding when required.
Strong desire to keep learning.
Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to support the business owner(s) to define a product roadmap and define the future of Sygnum’s custody business.
Exceptionally organized and experienced in communicating across teams, geographies, and functions.
