Asymmetric Research:

Asymmetric Research ("AR") is a boutique security venture focused on deep partnerships with L1/L2 blockchains and DeFi protocols in an effort to keep them safe. We specialize in four core domains of web3 security: research, engineering, incident response, and infrastructure services.

Culture:

AR is a fully remote organization. Our team has deep roots in open-source development and decades of security-first experience at organizations such as Google, Netflix, Mozilla, Stripe, and Jump Crypto. We value autonomy, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.

About the Role:

We're seeking a Rust Security Tooling/Automation Engineer (EMEA or ET) to design, build, and review critical smart contracts and supporting infrastructure within the Solana ecosystem. You’ll work closely with leading blockchain protocols, collaborating on both internal and external engineering initiatives with a strong emphasis on secure-by-design development.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement high-performance, secure smart contracts on Solana using Rust and the Anchor framework.

  • Collaborate with protocol teams to develop new functionality and improve existing smart contracts.

  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to internal and external audits of smart contracts.

  • Build testing frameworks and CI pipelines for robust, high-assurance deployments.

  • Contribute to security-sensitive infrastructure such as validators, bridges, and oracles.

  • Work with internal and partner teams to identify design flaws or vulnerabilities early in the development lifecycle.

  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices in smart contract development.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience developing smart contracts, ideally in Rust and Solana.

  • Deep familiarity with Anchor and the Solana program model (PDAs, CPI, account constraints, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of blockchain architecture and common attack vectors.

  • Experience writing robust unit and integration tests using Solana/Anchor frameworks.

  • Comfort reviewing and debugging complex codebases.

  • Interest or background in secure systems design and adversarial threat modeling.

  • Contributions to open-source projects or prior audit/code review work are a plus.

  • Familiarity with other smart contract ecosystems (e.g., Ethereum, CosmWasm, Move) is a bonus.

  • Familiarity with Go development is also a plus.

  • While we are a globally distributed team, for this role, we prefer candidates who can work in the EMEA or ET timezone.

  • CU optimization experience and experience with the Pinocchio framework are a plus
